The most cutting-edge faucets are downright architectural, with a dramatic geometry: Severe right angles keep L-shaped faucets looking sharp. U-shaped spouts form squared-off arcs. Metal pipes assume rectilinear shapes. Heads and handles sit square and squat. And cylindrical styles celebrate the shape of the circle, right down to the round knob spindles. These novel shapes are "part of the whole modern thing," says Richard. "Plus, people are just looking for more variation and individuality in their fixtures." It's faucet as conversation piece.
