French Modern Kitchen

Sometimes when an old family home is passed on to the kids, the décor is so outdated it is hard to live with. That's exactly what happened to Lisa and Richard Petty when they inherited his grandparents' house. But today is their lucky day. Designer Angelo Surmelis and the 24 Hour Design team have a plan to bring some contemporary decor to their heirloom home.

It's a great house, with a nicely sized kitchen, but it hasn't been remodeled since 1972. It looks exactly the same way it did when the homeowner came here as a kid to visit grandparents. Now that he is grown up and lives in the home with his family, Richard Petty would like to modernize the kitchen and lose that '70s style.
