About seven years ago, an old flame was rekindled when John Towns, on business in the city, called on an old girlfriend to see how she was doing. Suzie, living in a 1940s bay-front cottage she bought more than 20 years ago, was doing fine and was happy to hear from John, so they decided to meet. Shortly thereafter they were married, and John moved into the little cottage with the spectacular city views. Over the years, John and Suzie began renovating their home to give it an overall facelift and a more contemporary feel. The kitchen, however, has never been redone and is more of a project than the homeowners feel comfortable taking on themselves.
