Beth Bowles and her husband, Paul Sessum, wanted a kitchen that looked like a '50s diner, but they got a teapot terror. Overly sweet teapot-themed wall paper, excessive checkerboard patterns on the cupboards and floors, goofy curtains and an exposed washer and dryer combined to make the room more 'do whoops' then 'do wop.' Fortunately, designer Kelli Ellis, carpenter Jason Ferris and design coordinator Vanessa Price are on hand to bring the 50s diner spirit into their kitchen.
From the music to the checker theme, Beth and Paul love everything about the '50s, but their design for a diner kitchen went a little overboard.
