Couple Searches for an Affordable Place Near Northern California's Wine Country

Cathleen and Andrew have made offers on multiple homes, without any luck, and with their lease about to expire, they're running out of time to find a place near Northern California's wine country. While Andrew prefers the Marin County city of Novato, where he works at his family's lumber mill, Cathleen wants to buy about 15 minutes north in quaint Petaluma, where the homes are more affordable, but some sit on "adobe soil", which can shift over time.
