This former lodge used to be a vacation spot for many and is now home to the Vlasits who restored the original features as mementos of the beloved building.

What could be more relaxing than living in a building that formerly served as a vacation spot? The Massanutten Caverns Lodge, located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, had served as a day resort for more than 50 years until its doors were closed in the 1970s. Guy and Margie Vlasits bought the building to enjoy their retirement, but first had to put some elbow grease into the 4,000-square-foot building.
The Vlasits were careful to restore the building's Massanutten stone and original coffee shop sign as mementos. Although the Vlasits have worked hard to make this building their private home, they still open their doors to the community that still harbors fond memories of this former lodge.
