This plain window needs some help. Lightweight plastic shutters and a wood planter box painted a coastal blue color give it character. A little waterproof oilcloth surrounded by painted molding covers unsightly exterior doors. Nail the trim in place, and then cut the excess oilcloth with a utility knife.
