Dianne Haas is an interior designer and self-proclaimed architectural junkie. She never planned to live in Maine, but while passing through a fishing village in South Bristol she noticed a dilapidated building on pilings in the harbor. She didn’t even know if she could restore the building, which was literally about to fall into the water, but she bought the three story Dance Hall on impulse.
After six years of work she transformed the derelict dance hall into a jewel of the coast. The first floor features a soda bar from the dance hall's original café. The second-floor living room has bookcases that were created from the benches that used to line the walls.
