Toolbox: Engraving Tools

Ever lose track of your favorite power tool because you couldn’t identify it? Well, there is a way to keep this from happening. Engrave your name or initials right on your tools.

Select an area on the tool where your name will be easily visible but won’t interfere with the operation of the tool. First write your name with a marker, then go over it with the engraver. It will take a couple of tries to get used to how it feels. You can leave your mark on wood, plastic or metal. So make your mark and hold onto your tools.
