Thomas Elfe was a craftsman who came to Charleston from England at a time when the town was growing and wealth was creating jobs for quality homebuilders and artisans.

Evidence of Elfe’s fine craftsmanship is evident in this 1760s Georgian single house. His woodworking skills later made Elfe a legend not just in Charleston, but throughout the American colonies.
