How to Create a Stone Hearth for an Outside Fireplace

Materials and Tools:

small rocks
mortar
trowel

Steps:

1. Using a trowel, place an even layer of mortar on the hearth of the fireplace.

2. Place each stone flush in the mortar. You may have to push thicker stones deeper to ensure a level surface.
