Jon Ward and Teri Adams' Fort Piece, Fla., home has quite a history. It was built at the turn of the century as a place for railroad passengers to while away the hours between stops. Later it became a beverage store and finally it served as the local sheriff’s detective office.
Jon and Teri run their arts-photography and publishing business on the main floor where the detectives used to investigate criminals. A one-way mirror and door peephole serve as evidence of the building's past career in law enforcement. Upstairs, the couple breathed new life into the area that once served as the sheriffs’ offices. Jon and Teri deserve badges of honor for converting this once-drab building into a gracious home.
