Jana and Ed Peirce are back in school, but they’re not continuing their education. They’ve converted an old schoolhouse into their home in Reedsville, W.Va. What lessons did they learn along the way? They first learned how to stoke the original coal steam boiler that continues to heat the building. Secondly, the couple learned it takes several months to strip a staircase of nearly 100 layers of paint.
