The homeowners in this episode did a fair share of the remodeling work themselves. After living in their home for about 10 years, they decided to expand on its potential and create a more family friendly floor plan. They drew up the plans to transform their modest rambler with a stunning new look and then friends and family members pitched in to help with the finishing work.

Among the changes are a new vaulted ceiling in the living room and a master bath. The family room was moved upstairs, and the former downstairs family room was turned into a more informal recreation room. A highlight is the stunning new two-story entry.
