Painted Jute Area Rugs

chalk
brown craft paper or newspaper
masking tape
6x9 jute rug (Natural SKU910) - Lowe's
latex enamel spray paint
particle mask

Steps:

1. Use chalk to draw the desired pattern. Cover the areas not to be painted with paper held in place with masking tape (press as hard as possible for crisp lines).
2. In a well-ventilated area, use short and steady strokes to paint the exposed areas of the rug. Let dry and remove the tape to reveal the design.
3. If necessary, remove any remaining chalk lines.
