The Outer Spaces crew has gathered for a sneak attack on police lieutenant Gene Street. His wife, Deedie, has planned all of this with the help of host Susie Coelho and designer Adam Wheeler. A brick patio, barbeque and sculpture garden are included in the plans for this masculine entertaining area.
The owners of this yard dream of reclaiming it from the clutter by recycling many of the items into a masculine entertaining area.
The piles revealed wonderful pieces for a sculpture garden. The path leads to a large brick patio for entertaining. Old window frames are recycled into a counter base and a trellis for potato vines to cling to.
A neutral-colored gravel base sets the tone for the sculpture garden which is comprised of found objects, old farming equipment and whimsical iron animal creations. Now the items can be highlighted rather than being part of a forgotten pile.
Adam Wheeler's design has a sculpture garden that will showcase the couple's interesting art and found objects, a large barbeque area made from the piles of bricks that will provide the perfect view of the mountains, a small area for a fire pit and lots of plants.
An old door, supported by several old window frames, becomes a counter. New stools are transformed with old metal tractor seats held in place with a large center bolt.
Rumbled (not tumbled) bricks (new ones made to look old by being turned in a drum) set level over sand to allow for expansion and contraction comprise the base of a large barbeque patio. They have a warm look and last longer than poured concrete. Iron furniture with orange accents also makes the area warm and welcoming for guests.
