For over 300 years Magnolia Plantation has been home to the Drayton family, one of Charleston’s most prominent families. After the Civil War the family opened their magnificent gardens to the public, allowing the citizens of Charleston to escape in their beauty at a time when they were recovering from the devastations of war. Today, the plantation house features different periods of Charleston living while the gardens still offer a peaceful oasis to all.
