The homeowners in this episode purchased their house because of the neighborhood and proximity to their children’s schools. They thought the home needed updating, inside and out, so an extensive remodel was planned. The goal of the remodel was to create a more casual and comfortable home, adding bedroom and living space to better suit the couple and their four children.
Architect Dan Bryan's design added a lot of extra space to the main floor, created more bedroom space on the second floor and turned an unfinished basement into a game room for the children. The exterior got some major changes, including a new roofline and a large back patio. The interior spaces are wide open and full of casual comfort. Highlights of the remodel include a modern kitchen, 3-story spiral staircase and basement billiard room and home theater.
