This 7,500-square-foot log home sitting by Lake Walloon in Michigan's Upper Peninsula is reminiscent of the great camps of the Adirondacks. But homeowners Barb and Bill Tait designed their home with a rustic look that belies its modern construction.

The Taits chose hand-peeled logs and stained them dark brown. Furniture is made using antlers and they chose slate floors. In the great room, a chandelier fashioned from birch bark and twigs hangs some 20 feet above. With a location featuring shimmering waters, lush forests and blue skies this red pine masterpiece is the perfect place to relax.
