A young, energetic couple have recently purchased a Mediterranean bungalow. They love the inside but have not paid much attention to the outside. They want to make their home cozier and more welcoming. The designer will step in along with a landscape expert to give them a home of their dreams.
Homeowners Mike and Vicki Bishop want the home of their dreams, but since all there focus has been on sprucing up the inside, the outside has gone south. They'd like the outside to reflect the beauty that is also on the inside. Designer Doyle McCullar wants to focus on the entry way to give it a welcoming feel. Warm colors, a new front walkway and some window boxes should turn this neglected facade into a Mediterranean dream.
Here's how they accomplish it:
- remove all landscaping except for Japanese style tree
- make low cost additions such as a floor mat, painted pots and a mosaic table
- add wrought iron window boxes with low-maintenance foliage
- new concrete front pathway and steps
