New leaded glass in these upper cabinets provides a stylish way to display dishware. Tools and Materials:
tape measure
glass cutter
straight edge
caulking gun
glazing points
small trowel or putty knife
glass panels
two tubes clear silicone
safety goggles
Steps:
1. Remove cabinet doors and lay them face-down on a protective surface. Carefully measure each opening and subtract 3/16” from the width and height.
2. Using a glass cutter and straight edge, cut the glass to size. Use the ball end of the glass cutter to break the piece along cut seam.
3. Run a bead of silicone around the inside edge of the opening. Press the glass pane into the opening, wiping away any excess silicone as you go. For extra support, add glazing (push) points to help secure the glass to the door. Use a trowel or putty knife to push the spikes on the points into the wood. Allow silicone to set up for a few hours before hanging the cabinet door.
