Our first case takes place in the rolling hills of upstate New York. Homeowner Jay Pullman knows he has a fixer-upper on his hands, but he wants to get a better idea of how much fixing-up is ahead. To find out, he’s called in five-year veteran house inspector Tom Sherman to have a look at his 1834 Greek Revival Colonial in New Woodstock.

Homeowner and real estate agent Kristen O'Donnell lives in Marin County, Calif., a notoriously pricey housing market. O'Donnell is worried that her investment might be sliding downhill, literally. She calls in house inspector Matt Cantor to see if her 1957 contemporary is on solid ground.
