Jerry Brand of LaFayette, Ind., has three children who are all crazy about basketball. When oldest son Tyler had trouble getting court time for his high school team, Brand decided to create an indoor basketball court at their home.

Luckily, Brand is a real-estate developer by trade and laid the groundwork for their basketball court himself.

Part of a ravine on the property was leveled and a hole carved out large enough to hold a full-sized underground basketball court.

Brand's sons can even look down on the court from their bedroom window. Daughter Whitney also gets into the game, adjusting the hoop height with a hand crank.
