Psychotherapist Kathy Wells believes in improving things from the inside out. She certainly applied her philosophy when she bought a vacant health club in downtown Denver, Colo., and began converting it into her home.
Ripping up the carpet revealed original wood floors, complete with holes from where the weight benches were bolted down. There are dent marks from barbells in the columns in the middle of the former gym floor, which is now a combined living room and kitchen. The whimsical artwork, bold patterns and bright green walls get the heart pumping.
