Lessons Learned: Design Matters

*The layout of the original house prohibited the "flow" that so many designers refer to. By knocking out a couple of walls and re-purposing all the spaces on the main floor, Dave and Suzanne created a higher functioning living space for their family. Ask your designer for ways to increase function in your home.

*Get in touch with your realtor before finalizing any design plans to ensure that what you have in mind is appropriate for the neighborhood and that the design will be appealing to potential buyers. Remodeling Tip

*Many homeowners try to save money by doing remodeling work themselves. This can become impractical if you are unable to give the project your full attention. The homeowners in this project were not only trying to raise a toddler and felt that paying for someone else to do all the work was entirely worth it.
