*There was nearly two years between the day Kay decided to remodel and the day her project began. It took another 16 weeks for the project to be completed. When deciding to remodel, prepare yourself for the need to be patient and open-minded.

*Kay engaged in her project as much as possible. By taking time to familiarize herself with the plans and budget and staying in close communication with her contractor, she felt comfortable tracking costs and raising concerns with the tradesmen on the job. continued
