After renovating several homes, Bruce Townsley was looking for a new challenge. He found a deep one when he decided to move into an underground Atlas-F missile site in Clyde, Texas.
Townsley managed to fit a living room, bedroom, kitchen and home office in the former crew control quarters in the decommissioned military facility. The decor features Japanese art pieces and white carpeting and walls. Next to his living space is an 18-story underground shaft that once was missile storage space. An exhaust hatch and escape hatch are other reminders of the homes former use.
