How do you bring curbside charm to a house that's been stuck behind a big tree for over 30 years? Karen Beato has lived in this corner house for about two years. Now she's ready to take her house out from behind the tree and make it the best on the block. A new paint color, removing a lot of brick, adding an awning and some low cost decorations all add up to Curb Appeal! Heather Hardcastle will help Karen bring her house out in the open. Here's how they accomplish it:
- Two awnings: one on the side of the house and one on the front of the house
- Demo all the landscaping and planting beds, remove large tree, landscaping at curb side. Replace with sod and new plants. Add moss rocks around planting beds
- Restain front door and mail slot. Add new address numbers, three new porch lights and new door hardware
- Remove and replace wrought iron railing on the porch and door window
- Make brick walkway more narrow
- Widen grass area and border with brick
- Paint house bright peachy-orange, trim around windows
