AfterHow do you take a house that is totally hidden by a large redwood tree and make it the center of attention? Jay Kuo and Brian Browning need to first find their house and then make it more welcoming with a new paint job, new inviting entry and lush plantings.
Kuo and Browning's home is totally hidden by a large redwood tree that was planted too close to the house. They want to bring the ever-popular idea of Curb Appeal to their home. Here's how they accomplish it:
- Remove the large redwood tree.
- Remove stairs and change the direction.
- Build a new entry and add a column.
- Add planter boxes at end of new staircase.
- Put tile on the stairs and landings.
- Add decorative trim around the windows for detail.
- Paint the house five shades of yellow.
- Plants lots of lush green plantings in the yard.
