Materials and Tools:
steel rods
cement screws (optional)
primer and paint for steel
welder (rental)
plasma cutter (rental)
drill press
grinder
metal chop saw
welding mask
heat-resistant gloves
cordless drill
safety glasses
level
Tip: Welders and plasma cutters can be very useful, but also extremely dangerous. Before using one, be sure to get instructions from an expert and be completely familiar with how to operate it.
Steps:
1. Measure the space for the gates and cut spindles and frame pieces to fit (figure A).
2. Drill and grind holes for spindles.
7. Hang the gate in desired area. If attaching to a brick wall, drill pilot holes and screw in with cement screws (figure F).
