Bright and Modern Master Bath
New Spaces : Episode NWS-1001 -- More Projects »
Paul Coghlan is a busy, big-city lawyer and single parent. After working in a pressure cooker all day he enjoys coming home to relax. When he bought this 1960s ranch house, he loved the peaceful location, but not the decor, especially in the master bath. The outdated fixtures, crumbling cabinets, stained shower, and lack of light just make him tense.
So he enlists the expertise of architect Arlene Warda to transform this ailing space. She plans to turn Paul's dark, dated bathroom into a bright, spa-like retreat. First, the old space is completely gutted. Holes are cut in the exterior brick wall and a picture window is installed to bring natural light into the space. All surfaces are covered in glass tile, and a modern vanity and overflow tub are installed. Sliding glass panel doors separate the bath from the bedroom and add spa elegance to this master suite.
