The history of Boone Hall plantation dates back to the 1600s, but the spirit of it was revived in 1936 when Canadians Thomas and Alexandria Stone came to town.

The couple built a Colonial revival home using bricks from demolished houses on the property. The history of the plantation is also present in the surviving slave cabins that date back to the early 1800s.
