It is a home that whispers the history of the Old South through rooms that have been left untouched for over 150 years. Everything in the house—from the wallpaper, paintings and décor—is as it was in the 1830s to 1850s. While most grand homes in Charleston have undergone restoration, the Aiken-Rhett house has instead been treated to preservation, providing a true time capsule of Charleston life from the city's romantic past.
