It is a home that whispers the history of the Old South through rooms that have been left untouched for over 150 years. Everything in the house — from the wallpaper, paintings and décor — is as it was in the 1830s to 1850s. While most grand homes in Charleston have undergone restoration, the Aiken-Rhett house has instead been treated to preservation, providing a true time capsule of Charleston life from the city's romantic past.
