About the only thing the homeowners in this episode liked about their house was the backyard. The main floor needed reworking and they added a new second floor for bedroom space. The goal of the remodel was to incorporate the couple’s unique style into the home while making it a great space for living and entertaining.
Architectural Designer Deborah Mackler's design more than doubled the square footage of the home with the new second floor. She also reorganized floor plan on the main floor to improve the flow to the back yard. The exterior was changed dramatically and features a Spanish design cues. The rooms are large and open to each other with stylistic touches such as wood beam ceilings and arched doorways. Other highlights include upstairs deck space and a large new kitchen.
