Christy Webster loved growing up in her parents' house, so much so that she's now decided to raise her own family in the same home. She, along with husband Warren and baby Wyatt, are having a blast in the home she has so many memories in. What they're not enjoying is the old '70s details that were okay back in the day but definitely not their taste today.
Currently the house appears solid, but at the core it's pretty dated: an old iron railing, pea green paint, drafty French doors and skinny molding around the windows. Designer Megan Clark wants to replace all the doors, paint the body, beef up the columns and trim and build them a new wood railing. Landscape designer Brad Frazier wants to do away with the "old fashioned mom and pop" plants and make their yard more sophisticated.
Here's how they do it:
- new doors
- new railings
- paint house
- beef up molding and trim
- re-face garage door
- low cost projects
- new hardware
- accessories (mailbox, house numbers)
- re-face plain cinder block wall with faux stone
