Harvest Feast wall quilt pattern
Steps:
Note: Instructions are for one block.
1. From the gold solid cut:
- two 3-7/8" squares and draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of each square.
- four 2"x 6-1/2" strips
- one 6-1/2" square.
2. From the earth-tone print fat quarter cut:
- two 3-7/8-inch squares
- four 2"x 6-1/2" strips
3. Sew each gold 2"x 6-1/2" strip to the print 2"x 6-1/2" strip (right sides together) and press with seams to the print.
4. Sew one of the strip sets to each side of the 6-1/2" square with the print strip against the square. Press seams toward the print. This will be section 2 of the block.
5. Place each gold square with a print square (right sides together) and stitch a "scant" 1/4-inch from each side of the diagonal line. Cut along the drawn line and press each triangle with seams toward the dark print. You will have four 3-1/2" half-square triangles.
6. Sew a half-square triangle to each end of the two remaining 3-1/2" x 6-1/2" strip sets, with the gold triangle on the outside corner. Press seams toward the strips. These sets will be sections 1 and 3 of the block.
7. Sew the block together: section 1 to section 2 to section 3. Press to render a Churn Dash block ready for appliqué.
8. Trace your acorn and leaves pattern pieces onto the dull side of freezer paper. Cut out pattern pieces on drawn lines. Using the medium setting, iron freezer paper pieces, shiny side down, onto wool. Cut out.
