How To Make a Snowy Tree Square Wreath

Plastic foam 18-by-12-by-2-inch sheet
Plastic foam 9-inch cone
2 plastic foam 6-inch cones
silver bead garland
three 2-inch twig stars
bunch cedar stems with small pinecones
bunch cedar stems with snow and glitter
large bag dark green reindeer moss
low-temp hot glue gun and glue sticks
ruler or measuring tape
sharp serrated knife
brown floral wire
brown wrapped wire
seven 2-inch wooden skewers or stems
1. Measure and mark two 16-by-2-by-2-inch and two 12-by-2-by-2-inch rectangles using the sheet of plastic foam. Rub the knife across the candle for ease of cutting before you cut the marked pieces.
2. Apply hot glue to one end of four of the wooden skewers or stems. Insert one halfway into the centers of each of the 2-inch ends of both of the 12-by-2-by-2-inch pieces. Leave 1 inch of each skewer or stem exposed.
3. Apply hot glue to the exposed ends of the skewers or stems. Push them into the tops and bottoms of the long sides of the 16-by-2-by-2-inch cut pieces to form a 16-by-16-by-2-inch square frame that is open in the center.
4. Trim a 3-inch piece of brown wrapped wire and shape it to form a hanger. Apply glue to the ends and insert them into the top back of the wreath.
5. Use hot glue to completely cover the wreath in green reindeer moss.
Note: It will be easier to finish the wreath if you can hang it on a wall or door at eye level. If you cannot hang the wreath, then position it on your work surface with the hanger at the top.
6. Cover all of the cones of plastic foam with the quilt batting. Use small amounts of hot glue to secure the batting to the cones.
7. Measure and cut two 30-inch pieces and one 48-inch piece of the silver bead garland. Wrap the two small cones with the two shorter garlands and the large cone with the longer piece. Secure the garland to the back of the cones with floral pins. Separate the batting if needed before inserting the pins, and replace the batting to cover them.
8. Cut three 3-inch pieces of brown floral wire and wrap one piece of wire around the bottom of each twig star. Apply hot glue to the ends of the wires and insert them into the top of each cone.
9. Apply hot glue to the ends of three of the wooden skewers or stems, and insert them into the bottoms of the cones.
10. Apply glue to the exposed ends of the skewers or stems with the cones, and insert them inside the bottom center of the wreath. Position the larger cone between the two smaller cones. Adjust the batting, stars and garlands to create an even and balanced look.
11. Trim the stems of the cedar with the pinecones and insert them around the sides, top and bottom. Trim the cedar with the snow and glitter, and insert them around the bottom and sides.12. If desired, remove the cedar stems, apply hot glue to the stems, and reinsert them.
