26. Insert the hands into the end of the arms and stitch closed.

27. The upper and lower legs are stitched in the same manner as the upper and lower arms (figure M).

28. Trace and cut out shoe pieces and soles of shoe pieces.

29. Using matching quilting thread, hand stitch, with right sides together, the shoe pieces leaving an opening at the top and bottom.

30. Hand stitch the sole to each shoe, easing to fit. Turn carefully and stuff firmly.

32. Insert the neck of the body into the pumpkin head. Stitch the head to the body.

33. Insert needle into one upper leg in the center near the top edge, go through the bottom of the body to the other side and through the other upper leg. Pull tight, go back and forth several times. Knot and cut off.

34. Trace and cut out pant pieces. Sew up the center front seam.

35. Fold pants right sides together matching the crotch and sew the crotch seam. Turn.

37. Run gathering stitches around each leg and pull tight. Tack in place above the knee.

38. Trace and sew jacket fronts and back on doubled fabric right sides together. Turn. Close openings in jacket pieces. Hand stitch the jacket fronts to the back.

40. Attach the arms in the same manner as the legs, but you will be going through the jacket as well as the body at the shoulders.

41. Place a mini gardening tool in each hand of the pumpkin for decoration.
