Materials and Tools:

black top hat (available online or in costume or antique shops)
ceramic pot (without drainage holes)
ice
bottle of wine

Steps:

1. Measure the width and height of the black top hat to determine the size of the pot needed. Ideally, you want a heavy ceramic pot to keep cooler from tipping over once you add the wine bottle. Also, do not buy a pot with drainage holes, because as the ice melts, the pot will leak and ruin your hat. Insert the container into the top hat. If the pot is taller than your hat, paint the visible portion of the pot black or conceal it by wrapping it with a wide black ribbon.

2. Place the wine inside the top hat.

3. Carefully fill the top hat with ice to allow wine to chill.
