Materials:
wool felt or woven wool fabric
marking pen
scissors
fiberfill
embroidery floss
Make coasters by starting with a solid felt base, and then stitch around the outline of holiday shapes. Attach them to self-adhering cork for a great gift!Steps:
1. Determine the desired shapes (trees, stars, circles, hearts, etc.) and draw them on the felt or fabric (you’ll need two of each design for each ornament). Make sure they are at least three to four inches in diameter or they will be too small to work on.
These glass candleholders get their holiday cheer from felt candle wraps cut and sewn into pretty holiday scenes.2. Embellish the front pieces of the ornaments with names or just initials. Use an embroidery machine, create the designs by hand or use iron-on embroidered letters.
3. Pin the front pieces to their backs, right sides outside. Stitch the pieces together using the blanket stitch (figure A), but leave a space to stuff the ornament with fiberfill. Once it’s puffy enough, finish the stitching. Leave a loop of embroidery floss to hang the ornament over a branch.
