Materials and Tools:
ballpoint pen or dull pencil
foam plates
scissors
craft paint
small paint roller
solid-colored wrapping paper
Steps:
1. Using a ballpoint pen or dull pencil, sketch holiday design onto back of foam plate. Go over the design several times, etching the lines as deeply as possible in the foam without going all the way through the plate.
2. Pour paint onto a second foam plate, which will be used as a palette. Roll paint roller through paint several times, getting an even coat on the roller. Roll paint onto plate bottom with the etched design, thoroughly covering the surface of the plate. Paint should be on the plate surface but not in the indented lines. Gently wipe away any paint that gets in the indented lines.
3. Press plate firmly and evenly onto paper. Lift plate from paper to see transferred pattern. Continue stamping paper with paint-covered plate until pleased with the wrapping paper design.
