Find Indoor Gardening Tips from HGTV

If it's too cold to garden outdoors and you want to give winter indoor gardening a try this year, HGTV.com can provide you with indoor gardening tips to make the job easier.

Indoor Vegetable Gardening
One of the best ways to garden indoors is container gardening. Generally, most vegetables grown in the soil are suitable for container gardening as long as they have enough space for root development. Shallow-rooted crops like peppers and radishes need a container at least six inches in diameter with an eight-inch soil depth. Bushel baskets, half barrels, wooden tubs or large pressed paper containers are ideal for growing tomatoes, squash, pole beans and cucumbers. You can also practice organic indoor gardening easier because you won't have to deal with quite as many pests indoors.

Indoor Gardening With Herbs
Another great way to garden indoors is by growing herbs. You can start >growing herbs indoors year-round, as long as you provide them with enough light. Basil, oregano, mint, parsley, rosemary, sage and thyme are all ideal choices for indoor gardening.

Other Indoor Gardening Techniques
HGTV.com also provides you with several sources for indoor gardening tips, on everything from choosing the right houseplants to using hydroponics for your indoor garden. There are also tips for creating a mini indoor garden; growing flowering shrubs indoors; and creating a tabletop conservatory.
