Extending the Growing Season
Long Island horticulturist Chris Leggio shares some great suggestions for protecting gardens from frost and harsh temperatures. Disney garden instructor Beth Geils demonstrates how to create wonderful window boxes for autumn, filled with a variety of flowers and herbs in rich colors and textures. Robert Newgarden, herb curator at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, shows off his amazing herb garden, which features over 300 plants. Hosts Jackie Cicchino and John Greenlee wrap up the show with some tips on seed-saving with tomatoes.
