Lovely Lavender
Lavender is an incredibly versatile herb. It can be used as a hedge, a perennial border or simply added to the garden to attract butterflies. Robyn Bazemore of Shore Acres Nursery in Orlando introduces several lavender varieties and shows us how to propagate this popular herb from cuttings. Kids just love creepy, crawly things, so worm composting makes the perfect project for young gardeners! Disney horticulturist Jason Platzer demonstrates how to make a worm compost bin that will teach children the value of recycling and good agriculture. Not only are carrots wonderful "a la carte," but their vitamin-rich roots also make a great supplement in everything from cakes to soup. Hosts Jackie Cicchino and John Greenlee show how to create paths that will truly add charm and interest to any garden, with stepping stones enhanced by beautiful ground covers.
