Odd Pet Vet
Greg Mertz grew up with an appreciation of the outdoors and enjoyed biology and other natural-science courses in school. After graduating from college, he enjoyed a fulfilling career at a variety of museums and finally wound up in his dream job at the Smithsonian Institution. He eventually began to yearn for a more secure career when it came time to start a family, so he went back to school and got a degree in veterinary medicine. Dr. Mertz now has a clinic that specializes in treating unusual animals.
