Anchorage
In this episode, we visit four gardens in Anchorage, Alaska. The Coyote Garden flows around a charming log cabin. Rustic wood furniture and a gazebo overlook a pond. Tryck Garden has arbors with great views of the Alaskan mountains. A garden is planted with plants normally found wild in Japan, including lots of orchids. A deer chaser keeps deer and boar out while a bronze sign is meant to discourage moose. Carney Garden offers a vista of the mountains, and a path leads to a rock garden with a small pond. Finally, at the Palmer Visitor Center, near Pioneer Park, plants grow quite tall, thanks to the extra-long Alaskan summer days.
