Show off your new home renovations with a scrapbook that doubles as an invitation. Guest Carol Scheffler explains how easy this project can be.

Materials:

card stock in black, red and yellow
Rollabind binding discs and punch
Mrs. Grossman's stickers—Design Lines, Perennial garden borders, small trees, wildflowers, buttons, moving day and construction themes
adhesive
paper cutter
small scissors


  1. Cut two rectangles from of black cardstock measuring 6" x 5-1/2".

  2. Next, cut four yellow triangles measuring 7-1/2" x 3-1/4" for the roof.

  3. Cut two rectangles from of red cardstock, measuring 2-1/2" x 1/5". These will be used to make the chimney.

  4. Make a third rectangle from red cardstock for the door. It should measure 1-1/4" x 2 -1/4".

  5. The windows for the house are made from two square pieces of black cardstock measuring 1-5/8".

  6. Punch out the left side of the black cardstock (figure A) for the house.

  7. Glue the yellow roof piece to the top of the house (figure B), overlapping it by 1/2".

  • Next, glue the chimney to the backside of the roof, and then glue another piece of the roof on top. This will hide the bottom half of the chimney. Repeat this step for the back cover.

  • Trim off the left edge of the roof so that it doesn't interfere when turning the pages.

  • Adhere the doors and windows to the front of the house and decorate with stickers.

  • If you have a word processor, write and print a story about the project on red cardstock.

  • Trim pages to 4-3/4" x 5-3/4", then punch the left side of each page.

  • Assemble pages and bind them together with binding discs.
