Colorado woodworker Tom Hannah carves dragon talons on the cabriole* legs he is making for an exquisite bureau. Chicago artist Gladys Daniels Johnston paints bird of paradise flowers onto a botanical mural she's completing along a staircase wall. David Norrie pierces steel rods to create a circular decoration on an 8,000-pound railing he's building for a client in Jackson, Wyoming.
