Back to the '40s
The Pasadena Showcase House of Design is one of the oldest and most prestigious showcase homes in the country. For the past five years, Kitty Bartholomew has toured this home to show the latest trends in colors, fabrics, wall finishes, materials and decorating ideas. This year's showcase house is no exception. But one thing is different. In the past, the home has undergone major construction, but this year, the designers, for the most part, are working with the existing footprint and using clever decorating techniques to bring back the old glamour of this 1940s, 12,000-square-foot, traditional-style California home.
