Balcony House

AIR TIMES:

Balcony House and More
Check out three of the most unusual houses in the country. First, in Seattle, a former Swedish church jutting out precariously from a hillside has the neighbors below nervous. It is supported by only one corner planted in the hillside so it seems to float in mid-air. Then, a handcrafted hobbit house in Tujunga, Calif., has bystanders scratching their heads. Dan Haggerty, who played Grizzly Adams, helped the homeowner build this unusual abode. And finally, in Houston, this ultramodern place designed by architect Mark Oberholzer has more balcony than the entire square footage of many homes. Go past the balconies supported on off-kilter, brightly colored poles, and the inside is strikingly stylish.
